Derek Lockman and Kam Hogan each had 19 points to lead Austin College to an 80-73 victory over Colorado College Saturday night at Reid Arena.

Lockman scored 16 of his points, including 4-of-7 shooting from three-point range, in the first half as the 'Roos improved to 6-7 overall and 2-2 in the SCAC.

Eric Jonas with 15.

Austin jumped out to a 9-0 lead thanks to a couple of layups by Justice Mercadel, a three-pointer by Michael Holland and a jumper by Hogan. The Tigers finally got on the board with a pair of free throws by junior Nabeel Elabdia with 16:12 left in the half.

Edmund Pendleton cut Austin's lead to 23-21 with 9:24 remaining, but the 'Roos went on a 25-12 run, sparked by 14 points from Lockman, to take a 48-35 lead to halftime.

The Tigers cut the lead to six several times in the final eight minutes of the game, but Austin responded each time and made all eight of its free throws in the final minute.

Pendleton scored nine points and collected team highs of seven rebounds, six assists and three steals for the Tigers, who shot 46.4 percent from the field, but just 28.6 percent (6-for-21) from three-point range.

Austin College shot 48.4 percent from the field and 38.1 percent from long range. Holland had 16 points and seven assists, while Devin Roland chipped in with 12 points and six boards.

Colorado College wraps up its five-game homestand next Friday, Jan. 11, against Trinity University.
