Tigers Knock Off Mountain West Leader Boise State

The Colorado College women's soccer team was confident it could compete with the best teams in the Mountain West.

On Friday afternoon, the Tigers got the result they needed to prove it.

Senior goalkeeper Molly Hiniker tied her career high of seven saves to keep CC level with the first-place Broncos, and sophomore forward Jacqui Hand struck for the game's only goal in the 82nd minute to give the Tigers a 1-0 win at Boise State.

Hailee Rasmussen started the pivotal sequence when she won the ball in a 1v1 battle with Mckenna Kynett outside the box on the left side. The freshman midfielder sent a ball through the Bronco defense to Hand, who timed her run perfectly on the side.

Hand got behind the Boise State's back line and slotted a first-touch shot past goalkeeper Sydney Smith from the edge of the six-yard box.

It was Hand's team-leading ninth goal of the season and proved to be the sixth game winner of her career.

Hiniker kept the clean sheet intact when she stopped a shot by Morgan Stone with a little more than four minutes to play.

The senior goalkeeper posted her second shutout of the season and the sixth of her career.
