Treylon Matthews poured in 34 points to lead Centenary College to a 66-62 victory over Colorado College in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball game on Friday night at the Gold Dome.

Freshman guard Aaron Acosta gave the Tigers a 62-61 lead when he hit a triple with 2:28 to play, but Matthews answered with a triple of his own 29 seconds later to put the Gents ahead to stay.

CC had an opportunity to level the score with 53 seconds left, but Ty Prince blocked Edmund Pendleton's shot.

Acosta had a chance to give the Tigers the lead with 10 seconds to play, however his three-point attempt would not fall and Centenary's Kaharri Carter sank a pair of free throws with eight ticks on the clock to seal the victory for the Gents.
