O’Donnell Fuels CC’s Rout of Marian

First-year attacker Maggie O'Donnell scored three goals and dished out five assists to lead Colorado College to a 23-0 victory over Marian University on Monday afternoon at Stewart Field.

The Tigers, who earlier in the day moved up two positions in to No. 22 in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association's Division III Poll, improved to 6-0 on the season.

CC posted its first shutout since blanking both the University of Dallas (20-0) and Augsburg College (23-0) on March 1, 2014, in Dallas.

Senior attacker Nikki Blair scored the only the Tigers needed just 14 seconds into the contest after taking a feed from junior midfielder Lauren Pejza.

Pejza finished the game with two goals and two assists. She also led CC with seven draw controls.

Sophomore midfielder Sophie Murphy produced a goal and a pair of assists.

In all, 20 players found the net for Colorado College.

The Tigers finished with a 31-2 advantage in total shots and a 19-4 edge in ground balls.

CC also won 20 of 25 draw controls.

Sophomore Alena Stern and freshman Sarah Stamp did not face a shot on goal while posting the combined shutout.

Madison Cogdill stooped four shots for the Sabres, who slipped to 2-3.

The Tigers return to action on Wednesday night at Colorado State University-Pueblo.
