Colorado College hockey play-by-play announcer
Ken Landau was honored with a first-place award for "Best Sports Coverage by an Individual or Team" in a major market from the Colorado Broadcasters Association at its annual banquet Friday night.
Landau, who just completed his 13th season as the "Voice of the Tigers," now has earned the distinction five times – previously in 2007, '09, '12 and '15. Every Colorado College hockey game is broadcast on KRDO NewsRadio 105.5 and 92.5 FM/1240 AM, serving as the flagship station of the CC Tiger Sports Network.
Â
A 1982 graduate of Michigan State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in telecommunications, Landau called the play-by-play for MSU hockey from 1979 through 1985, then again from 1990 through 1997. He also spent three seasons serving in a similar capacity at the University of Michigan.
Â
In 1992, Landau earned the Associated Press of Michigan broadcast award for best play-by-play. In 2003, he called College Sports Television's first-ever college hockey game ever for College Sports Television and hosted CSTV's wall-to-wall coverage of the Frozen Four in Buffalo.
