Junior goaltender Andrew Harwood stopped a season-high 18 shots and senior attacker Tyler Borko struck for a team-high four goals to lead Colorado College to a 13-10 victory over Southwestern
University in the championship game of the 2019 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament.  

Harwood, who made six saves during the fourth quarter when the Pirates mounted their final comeback, posted double-digit saves for the eighth time this season and the 19th time in three seasons.

Borko was named the tournament's Offensive MVP, while senior Jack Ammons led the Tigers with six ground balls and three caused turnovers to earn the championship's defensive award.

CC never trailed during the game, but never led by more than two goals until Tom Haller ignited a five-goal explosion with 2:08 remaining in the first half.

Borko gave the Tigers an 8-5 lead after taking a feed from junior midfielder Max Rieser with 10 seconds to go before halftime. With that tally, he became the 12th player in program history to record 100 or more career goals.  

Three more markers from Borko gave Colorado College its largest lead of the contest at 11-5 with 2:36 left in the third quarter, but Southwestern's Cody Foster stopped the Tigers' surge when he scored with eight seconds to play in the third quarter.  

After Coby Petau's unassisted goal gave CC a 12-6 cushion with 12 minutes remaining in the game, the Pirates rattled off four consecutive goals to pull to within two with 7:03 remaining in the game.

Junior midfielder Jack O'Donnell struck for a man-up goal with 3:25 remaining to end Southwestern's run and close out the scoring.

In addition to scoring four goals, Borko dished out a pair of assists to finish his career with 187 points, which ranks 10th on the program's all-time list.

Senior midfielder Parker Woo and sophomore attackman John Sutro added two goals apiece for Colorado College, which finished the season with an 8-7 record.

Rieser scored once and dished out a personal-best three assists for the Tigers.

CC finished the game with a 43-36 advantage in ground balls and a 13-12 edge in faceoffs.

The Tigers fired 52 total shots, while Southwestern launched 46.

Foster led the Pirates with four goals, while Kai Knight-Turcan scored twice and added an assist.

Southwestern's Kyle Kuberski also made 18 saves.

The SCAC title is the fifth for Colorado College and the first since 2014 after the league reinstated the sport following a championship absence from 2015-2018.

The Tigers are now 6-1 in SCAC tournament play, with the program's only loss coming in the championship match of the 2012 event.
