The Colorado College women's soccer team exploded for three goals during the opening 25 minutes and cruised to a 3-1 victory over Siena College at Washburn Field on Sunday afternoon.
The Tigers broke through in the ninth minute when junior midfielder
Jenna Wilt sent a blistering shot from 20 yards out in the center of the field off goalkeeper Taylor Dorado's hands into the upper left side of the net. Sophomore forward
Kiley Suter earned her third assist of the season.
Less than a minute later, CC doubled its lead when Wilt delivered a perfect corner kick to the back post, where junior defender
Tayla Wheeler was waiting to place a header into the back of the net.
It proved to be the third game winner of Wheeler's career.
Senior forward
Catie McDonald gave Colorado College a 3-0 lead when she converted on her first career penalty kick, sending the ball into the lower right corner.
Senior goalkeeper
Molly Hiniker made her first start of the season and recorded five saves while going the distance to earn the victory.

- The Saints nearly got on the board in the fifth minute, but Hiniker lunged high to her left to tip Julianna Kissane's shot off the crossbar and then smothered Darby D'Angelo's rebound attempt.

- McDonald became the fourth Tiger to find the net during the first two games of the season.
- Suter led Colorado College with a game-high five shots.

- Junior forward Amber Alonzo's goal in the 27th minute was the first for the Saints this season
- Siena senior goalkeeper Taylor Dorado made six saves.

- CC finished with a 16-11 advantage in total shots and a 9-5 edge in shots on target.
- Jacqui Hand (2g/0a) and Wilt (1g/2a) are tied for team lead with four points.
- Suter's team-leading three assists are just one off her total from last season.
- The Tigers also won nine corner kicks, while the Saints produced five.
- Siena dropped both ends of it's first-ever trip to the Centennial State.
