Despite some last-minute heroics, Colorado College dropped a 3-2 decision at Texas Lutheran University on Friday night at Gustafson Field.
After falling behind 3-1 when Luis Green struck for his third goal with just under 15 minutes to play, the Tigers made a couple of clutch plays during the final five minutes to stay within striking distance.
In the 85th minute, sophomore goalkeeper
Chase Heyman denied a penalty kick by TLU's Cameron Townes to keep the CC's deficit at two.
Junior forward
Kiran Singh pulled the Tigers to within a goal when he scored with 3:37 to play off a pass from Mallory, but that proved to be as close as Colorado College would get.
The Tigers broke through late in the 23rd minute when senior defender
Aidan Longhurst struck for his first goal of the season off a feed from junior midfielder
Will Mallory.
Green leveled the score a little more than 14 minutes later off a touch from Marco Roman, and then put the Bulldogs ahead when he scored an unassisted goal in the 66th minute.
Ten minutes later, Green struck for what proved to be the game-winning goal.
