Colorado College hung with No. 16 Trinity University into the opening stages of the third quarter, however the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference leaders outscored CC by 14 points during an eight-minute span and went on to record a 90-66 victory on Saturday night.

McKenzee Gertz connected from behind the arc 19 seconds into the second half, Colorado College scored only eight more points until the junior forward added the final four points of the third quarter.
Gertz led CC with 15 points and 10 rebounds to record her seventh double-double of the season.
Talia Cloud scored 10 points and grabbed six rebounds, but no one else scored double-digit points for Colorado College.
CC trailed just 20-19 after
Rosie Braley scored two of her nine points with 44 seconds remaining in the first quarter, but a 24-8 surge gave the Texas Tigers a 17-point cushion with 2:54 to play before halftime.
Colorado College utilized a 10-2 run to close its deficit to nine points, but that proved to be as close as the visitors would get.
TU had five players reach double figures, led by Abby Holland who recorded a game-high 26 points.
Ashlyn Milton came off the bench to hit all four of her three-point attempts and finish with 19 points.
As a team, Trinity was 11-for-23 from behind the arc. CC hit just four of 16 three-point attempts.
