Last Time Out
The Tigers dropped a pair of games to Western Michigan in Kalamazoo last weekend ... On Friday, five Broncos scored in a 5-2 victory. WMU took a 1-0 lead when Ethen Frank scored on the power play at the 7:27 mark of the first period. Wade Allison made it 2-0 at the 14:44 mark of the opening frame with a wrist shot from the top of the right circle that went over the shoulder of CC goalie Matt Vernon, then Hugh McGing put the Broncos ahead 3-0 just 53 seconds into the second period by completing a 2-on-1 rush with Mattias Samuelsson. Chris Wilkie did his best to keep the Tigers in the game, scoring the next two goals to cut WMU's lead to one. He took a lead pass from Nick Halloran and scored on a breakaway at the 5:06 mark, then scored again off another pass from Halloran at the 11:37 mark for his second of the game. The Tigers never got the equalizer and Lawton Courtnall put the Broncos back up by a pair with a goal at the 5:13 mark of the third period. Rhett Kingston closed the scoring when his shot from the left corner deflected off a CC defender's stick and ended up going over Vernon's shoulder with 7:23 remaining in the third period ... On Saturday, Dawson DiPietro and Allison each collected four points as WMU won 6-2. DiPietro notched a hat trick and added an assist, while Allison scored a goal and assisted on three others for the Broncos. McGing opened the scoring with a shorthanded goal at the 3:49 mark of the opening period. Grant Cruikshank evened things up later on the same Tiger power play with a rebound goal at 4:53 of the first. DiPietro gave the Broncos the lead for good at the 10:43 mark with his first goal of the game and the Broncos pulled away in the second period with three goals. DiPietro scored his second of the game at the 5:26 mark after a blocked shot from Austin Rueschhoff went right to DiPietro at the bottom of the right circle and he had an open net. Brett Van Os made it 4-1 at 17:27 after putting in his own rebound, then Allison scored off another rebound with 8.8 seconds left in the middle frame for a 5-1 Bronco lead. Alex Berardinelli gave the Tigers a bit of hope early in the third period with a power-play goal at the 1:44 mark, but that hope was short lived, however, as DiPietro collected his third of the game just 23 seconds later, completing an odd-man rush with Rueschhoff, who finished the game with two assists.

Tiger Tales
Grant Cruikshank collected a career-high 12 shots on Saturday ... Connor Mayer posted a career-high five shots on Saturday and led CC with three blocked shots on Friday ...
Nick Halloran led the Tigers with three points (all assists) during the weekend ... Matt Vernon finished the series with 70 saves ... Chris Wilkie's five-game goal streak came to an end ... On Saturday, the Tigers scored multiple power play goals for the fourth time this season.
