CC Drops Season Finale at Texas Lutheran

Colorado College battled Texas Lutheran to a statistical draw in its final game of the season, with the exception of one key area.

The Bulldogs connected on 12 of 33 shots from behind the arc and pulled away late in the second half for a 79-69 victory at Memorial Gymnasium.

Aaron Acosta led CC with 21 points, with 12 coming from long range. It marked the seventh time this season the junior guard scored 20 or more points in a game. Acosta also became the 19th Tiger to make 100 or more career three-pointers.

In the final game of his career, CooXooEii Black scored 16 points and grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.

Black finished the season with 512 points to become the 16th player in program history to score 500 or more in a single season. He ended his career with 1,625, which ranks fifth in Colorado College history.

Charlie Rounaghi dished out a game-high eight assists and finished the year with 111, which ranks 14th on CC's single-season list.

The Tigers were hot early and built a 15-6 lead when Nabeel Elabdeia scored on a layup 4:11 into the game. TLU rallied to take a three-point lead late in the first half, but Colorado College answered with a 9-3 run to take 36-33 lead after 20 minutes.

The Bulldogs took the lead for good when Jorden Kite dialed long distance almost two minutes into the second half. After falling behind by 10 points, CC clawed its way back to within 59-56 when Black scored with 8:04 to play.

Texas Lutheran took control of the game with a 12-1 run to build a 14-point lead with just 2:36 to play, and the Tigers were not able to get closer than 10 points during the final two minutes on triples from Acosta and Eric Jonas.

Caleb Lister was 4-for-9 from behind the arc and led the Bulldogs with 21 points.
