The Colorado College men's soccer team kicked off its Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference schedule with a 3-1 victory over Texas Lutheran University on Friday afternoon at Stewart Field.
Sophomore midfielder
Ronan McCann struck for the game winner 3:14 into the second half with a shot from the left side of the box after freshman defender
Curtis Hale kept a
Sajji Singh direct kick alive. It also was McCann's first career goal.
A little more than four minutes later, junior defender
Atticus Lynch gave the Tigers a 3-0 lead when he scored off a cross from freshman forward
Gabe Kellman from the right side of the box.
CC's two second-half goals became necessary when Nathan Roy put the Bulldogs on the board in the 80th minute after goalkeeper
Keleher Felton had the ball knocked from his hands in a collision after making a save.
Felton made the play of the game with 5:40 remaining when he denied a penalty kick by TLU's Luis Green with a diving save toward the left post.
Earlier in the second half, Felton made a diving save on shot by Green toward the right post.
The Tigers broke through in the 17th minute when Kellman got on the end of a cross from Lynch.
With a goal and an assist, Kellman reclaimed the team lead with 13 points.Â

"We are pleased to start the back half of the season with a win," head coach
Scott Palguta said. "We didn't do a great job of closing the game out, but we did well to control long stretches of the game and scored a few nice goals. Keleher's penalty kick save was timely and gave the group a needed boost to finish the game off." Â Â

Atticus Lynch recorded the first three-point game of his career.
Keleher Felton finished with three saves.

Luis Green launched five shots and all three of the team's shots on goal.
Caleb Weed made five saves.
