The Colorado College women's soccer team played its most complete game of the season on Friday night and was rewarded with a 2-0 victory over the University of Nevada at Stewart Field.
The Tigers struck for the only goal they needed midway through the first half when senior forward
Jacqui Hand scored on the rebound of her penalty kick. Hand drilled a shot off the right post, but the carom went directly to
Kiley Suter, who touched the ball back toward Hand and she pounded it into the net.
It marked the seventh time that Hand and Suter combined on a game winner during their careers and the sixth time it was Suter who set up a deciding goal by Hand. It also was the 12th time they factored on a goal of any type.
Hand leads CC's current players with eight game winners, while Suter is the team's active leader with eight career game-winning assists.
Hand climbed into a tie for 19th place in program history with 17 career goals and 35th with 37 points. Â
Freshman midfielder
Kaelin Enga gave the Tigers an insurance goal in the 57th minute when she scored for the first time off a service from junior defender
Aspen Jeter from 30 yards out on the right side. It also was Jeter's first point at Colorado College.
In the defensive third, Colorado College allowed just five total shots.
Graduate goalkeeper
Taryn Benham stopped four shots while recording her second clean sheet in the last four games.
