The Colorado College men's soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to a season-long four games with a 3-2 victory at Austin College on Sunday at the Pierce Soccer Complex.
The Tigers improved to 9-2-1 overall and 3-0-1 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
CC broke through in the 23rd minute when
Sajji Singh put a first-touch shot from the right side of the box past Austin goalkeeper Connor Tullis inside the far post.
Atticus Lynch earned the assist with a throw-in from near midfield.
The Tigers made it 2-0 when
Gabe Kellman re-directed
Alex Meyerhoff's corner kick from in front of the near post into the fight right side of the net.
Kellman struck again in the 42nd minute when he deflected
Will Sylvain's cross from the right end line.
Ronan McCann had the secondary assist with a perfect pass from the center of the field to Sylvain, who was making a run outside the box.
It was the second brace of the season for Kellman, who produced two goals and an assist in Colorado College's 5-0 win over the 'Roos on Sept. 17 at Stewart Field.
Kellman's goal turned out to be his second game winner of the season, and the first-year forward took over the team lead with 19 points on six goals and seven assists.
The 'Roos got on the board in the 52nd minute when Louis Catchpole got on the end of Logan Newman's free kick from the right side and scored at the left post.
A little more than a minute later, Catchpole cut Austin's deficit to one when he scored from the same spot off a free kick from Kenneth Kienle.
From that point on, however, the CC defense stiffened and allowed just one more shot that went wide of the mark.
The Tigers finished the game with a 19-9 advantage in total shots and a 7-4 edge in shots on goal.
Each team won four corner kicks.
