This Weekend
Colorado College heads out on the road for the first time this season this weekend to play at Union College on Friday, Oct. 15 and Saturday, Oct. 16. Each game begins at 5 p.m. (MT). Both games will broadcast on KRDO NewsRadio 105.5 FM and 1240 AM.
Tigers Open Ed Robson Arena
Never in the storied 83-year history of Colorado College Tiger Hockey has the team played its home games on campus. Thanks to the generosity of former CC hockey player Ed Robson '54, along with several other donors, that changed last weekend. CC opened its brand new, state-of-the-art Ed Robson Arena Oct. 8-9 against St. Lawrence.
Last Weekend
The Tigers went 0-1-1 at Robson Arena against St. Lawrence ... On Friday,
Chase Foley scored his first career goal and CC outshot St. Lawrence 41-14, but the Tigers could not solve goalie Emil Zetterquist and fell to the Saints, 2-1, in front of a sold-out crowd of 3,589 in the inaugural game at Ed Robson Arena. Aleksi Peltonen and Kaden Pickering scored for SLU to take a 2-0 lead. Foley cut the lead to one with the first Tiger goal at Robson Arena with 9:14 remaining in the second period.
Jordan Biro fired a shot from the right circle that Zetterquist saved, but the puck went to Foley at the left circle and he buried it.
Jack Millar also picked up an assist on the play. ... On Saturday, Millar scored his first goal of the season and Basse made 27 saves as Colorado College battled to a 1-1 draw with St. Lawrence. Five minutes into the third period, Luc Salem took a pass from Chris Pappas and fired a shot from the right circle for a 1-0 Saints lead. The Tigers, who outshot SLU 19-7 in the third period and overtime, finally got on the board when
Jack Millar's wrist shot from the right point found its way through traffic and over Zetterquist's glove at the 11:57 mark. Foley earned his second point of the season on the play, while freshman
Tommy Middleton notched his first collegiate point. SLU's Jordan Steinmetz had a great look with 20 seconds left, but Basse stood tall and regulation ended even at 1-1. CC's
Logan Will found himself all alone in front of Zetterquist in the first 10 seconds of overtime, but couldn't capitalize and each team had only one shot the rest of the way.
The Kris Mayotte Era Begins
Kris Mayotte was named the 15th head coach in the history of the Colorado College hockey program on April 7, 2021.
