Last Weekend
the Tigers posted an 0-1-1 record at Union last weekend ... On Friday, Collin Graf and Brandon Estes each had a goal and an assist and Connor Murphy made 34 saves to lead Union to a 2-1 victory. Graf put the Dutchmen on the board during a 5-on-3 power play in the second period. He took a cross-ice pass from Estes and fired a one-timer from the left circle past CC goalie
Dominic Basse (15 saves) at the 6:34 mark. The Tigers responded when
Hunter McKown scored his first goal of the season to even the score at the 9:56 mark.
Connor Mayer took the puck behind the net from the left boards and sent a beautiful pass behind his back to McKown, who was parked at the left post and had an open net as Murphy expected Mayer to continue behind the net. The Dutchmen regained the lead when Graf found Estes all alone in the slot and his one-timer sailed past Basse, who had lost his stick ... On Saturday, the Tigers scored a season-high three goals Saturday night and battled to a 3-3 draw.
Patrick Cozzi,
Jordan Biro and
Stanley Cooley scored for the Tigers, with Biro and Cooley each recording the first goal of his career.
Logan Will posted a career-high two points with a pair of assists and attempted a career-best six shots. After
Tommy Middleton was whistled for interference, Liam Robertson deflected a shot from Brandon Estes past
Dominic Basse with 2:56 remaining to give the Dutchmen a 1-0 lead. CC buzzed the net early in the second period as well and Cozzi scored just 33 seconds into the frame to even the game at 1-1. Biro scored the first goal of his career to give the Tigers their first lead of the season at the 2:45 mark of the second. Union responded and took a 3-2 lead with a power-play goal by Chaz Smedsrud at 7:03 and an even-strength tally by Josh Kosack at 14:22, but Cooley posted his first career goal, a power-play tally at 15:57 of the middle frame to even it up once again.
Bryan Yoon's shot from the right point was saved by Murphy, but Cooley pounced on the rebound and put it in from the right post. Â
