The Colorado College swimming and diving teams continued their impressive start to the 2021-22 season on Saturday with victories in a three-way meet against Southwestern University and Centenary College in Georgetown, Texas.

The Tiger men defeated Southwestern, 163-56, and Centenary, 185-29, while the women snuck past Southwestern, 110-104, and beat Centenary, 160-47.

Freshmen
Step Flanagan and
Collin Ralston and junior
Mac O'Brien led the way for the men's team by winning two events apiece. Flanagan captured the 50 and 100 freestyle races, while Ralston won the 400 IM and 100 breaststroke. O'Brien, meanwhile, beat the competition in the 1- and 3-meter diving events.

Other winners for CC on Saturday included
Cade Thumann (100 butterfly),
Will Barber (1000 freestyle),
Jack Hussin (200 freestyle) and
Caleb Peimann (100 backstroke).

In addition, the foursome of
Julian Frerichs, Ralston,
Cole Thumann and Flanagan, won the 200 medley relay.

On the women's side, junior
Kate Brush dominated the pool for the second consecutive day, winning the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly races, and freshman
Emma Krasemann is now 4-for-4 in the diving events this season after winning both again on Saturday.

Annie Bowens and
Key Macfarland also captured a race on Saturday, winning the 50 freestyle and 400 IM, respectively.

"Everyone stepped up for gutsy performances today," head coach
Anne Goodman James said. "It was a great mixture of an impressive freshmen class, and the consistency of our veterans. The first weekend of competition is always an interesting one. Seeing our teams compete is starting to give me an idea of our strengths and challenges. Â I am very happy with our tenacity all weekend."

The Tigers return to action on Nov. 5-6, when they host SCAC foe Trinity University at Schlessman Natatorium. Â
