Led by individual champion and SCAC Runner of the Year
Elliot Singer, the Colorado College women's cross country team captured the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference team title Saturday morning in San Antonio, Texas.

The Tigers placed four runners in the top seven, another four in the top 14 to earn all-conference honors, and finished with 27 points, 10 points ahead of second-place Trinity University. The University of St. Thomas was third with 103. Â Â

Singer, a freshman from San Francisco, Calif., finished the 6K race with a time of 22 minutes, 18.6 seconds, nearly 28 seconds faster than second-place Anna Wilgenbusch of the University of Dallas. Singer, the first freshman to win the SCAC title since Taylor Stephens of Rhodes College in 2008, also earned SCAC Newcomer of the Year.

"On a day when every point matters, the depth of our team and all the days of hard work paid off," Singer said. "This team truly has so much fun together, and that love and trust is what makes the difference at the point when the race gets tough. I'm so grateful to be a part of this team, and can't wait for all the races to come."

Clare Quinn was fifth (22:57.7) and senior
Megan Koch placed seventh (23:12.1). Freshman
Posy Vogt rounded out the official scoring for the Tiers with an 11
th-place result in 23:44.7.

th/23:57.0) also earned all-SCAC honors. Dwyer made the all-conference team for the third consecutive year. Â

Alex Nichols said. "This win is a direct reflection of every mile run, every morning lift, and the determination of this team. With Elliot leading the way, there are big things on the horizon for this team."
After the meet, Koch was named the recipient of the Elite 19 Award by the conference.The SCAC Elite 19 is awarded annually to the student-athlete who has at least a cumulative 3.25 GPA, at least 60 credit hours at his or her current institution and earns All-SCAC honors for that particular season.
Koch, a senior molecular biology major from Highlands Ranch, Colo., currently holds a 4.000 GPA and took All-SCAC honors with her seventh-place finish at Saturday's championship meet. It marks the third straight year a Colorado College student-athlete has won the award as Alexia Preston took home the honor following both the 2019 and 2020/21 championships.
The Tigers return to action at the NCAA Division III West Regionals on Saturday, Nov. 13, in Claremont, Calif.
