Freshman
Elliot Singer led the Colorado College women's cross country team to a third-place finish Saturday at the NCAA Division III West Regional Championship and tentatively qualified for next week's NCAA Division III National Championship with a fifth-place individual result.
Singer, the top first-year finisher in the race, completed the 6K course in a time of 22.10.6. The reigning SCAC champion posted the best finish by a CC runner at the regional meet since Jenny Jorgensen finished third in 2004.

The Tigers finished with 132 points, behind meet winner Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (27) and Pomona-Pitzer (105).

The winning team automatically qualifies for the NCAA Division III National Championship, while 22 other teams from around the country will be selected as at-large bids. In addition, the top seven individuals that are not on teams selected also advance to the national meet.

The team and individual selections will be announced on Sunday, Nov. 14. The NCAA Division III Championship is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 20, in Louisville, Ky.
Junior
Kendall Accetta finished 22
nd with a time of 23:08.1, while fellow junior
Clare Quinn was 26
th in 23:16.0. Both joined Singer on the all-region team by placing in the top 35.

Megan Koch just missed all-region honors with a 36
th-place result in 23:31.5 and freshman
Sydney Rankin was CC's final scoring runner and finished 47
th in 23:45.6.

Alex Nichols said. "Everyone stepped up and ran extremely smart and strong. With any luck we will have a shot to compete again next weekend and go after a great team finish at Nationals."
