Tigers Fall to Division I CSU Bakersfield In Exhibition Game

Freshman guard Scott Ruegg scored 14 points to lead the Colorado College men's basketball team during Monday night's 99-54 loss to Division I CSU Bakersfield.

Ruegg was 5-for-8 from the floor, including a 3-for-6 effort from behind the arc.

Freshman guard Edgar Romero and freshman forward Leo Magnus added nine points apiece.

Senior forward Sam Kinney led the Tigers with five rebounds.

The Roadrunners jumped out to a 22-2 lead in the first ten minutes and never looked back.

CSUB shot 53 percent from the field while holding CC to 37 percent shooting. The 'Runners also had a 45-28 advantage on the glass and forced 25 turnovers.

The game was a homecoming for Colorado College head coach Jeff Conarroe, who spent nine seasons at CSU Bakersfield, eight as an assistant coach and then one associate head coach during the 2019-20 season.

It was the second contest against Division I opponents for the Tigers and their third game in four days on their current West Coast road trip.

CC returns home to face Sul Ross State University on Friday, Nov. 26, at 5:30 p.m. MT at Reid Arena.
