Colorado College to Face Ohio Northern In NCAA Tournament Opener

   
The No. 11 Colorado College volleyball team earned the program's 23rd consecutive appearance in the NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship and will face No. 16 Ohio Northern University in a first-round match on Friday, Nov. 12, at 4:30 p.m. MT at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa.

The Tigers are making the program's 30th overall appearance in the NCAA tournament. CC, which advanced to the Elite 8 in 2009, owns a 21-29 all-time NCAA tournament record.

Colorado College improved to 29-5 after defeating Texas Lutheran University 25-16, 25-23, 25-22 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference third-place match on Sunday.

Ohio Northern (22-5) earned an automatic berth by winning the Ohio Athletic Conference tournament title with a sweep of No. 24 Otterbein University. The Polar Bears are making their 33rd appearance in the NCAA Championship.

Friday's winner faces either No. 4 Wartburg (27-0) or Cornell College (20-11) in the second round on Saturday at 4 p.m. MT.

On the other side of the regional bracket, No. 3 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps faces Aurora University (20-8), while Bethel College (22-6) takes on No. 22 University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (26-7).

The regional championship will be played on Sunday, Nov. 14.
