Megan Dorney recorded a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Whitworth women's basketball team to a 69-56 victory over Colorado College Saturday afternoon in the Kim Evanger Raney Classic in Walla Walla, Wash.

Quincy McDeid and Kimberly Dewey chipped in with 13 points apiece for the Pirates, which rallied from an eight-point deficit after the first quarter.

The Tigers extended an 8-7 lead midway through the first period with an 11-4 run, including five points from
Jayd Sollinger and four from
Anna Fanelli, and held a 19-11 advantage after the first 10 minutes.

The Pirates responded by outscoring CC, 21-8, in the second quarter, including a jumper by Dorney with 2:21 remaining to give Whitworth the lead for good at 27-26. Dorney hit another jumper and McDeid nailed a three-pointer for a 32-27 advantage at the break.

Whitworth continued the momentum after halftime and doubled up the Tigers, 24-12, in the third quarter to take a 56-39 lead after 30 minutes.

Fanelli led the Tigers with 15 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.
Talia Cloud added 11 points and
Audrey Bayston led all players with 12 rebounds.

Colorado College plays No. 2-ranked Whitman College on Sunday, Dec. 12, beginning at 2 p.m. (MT).
