Tigers Return Home to Face No. 7 North Dakota

This Weekend
Colorado College returns home to battle the No. 7-ranked team in the country, North Dakota. Friday's game will begin at 7:30 p.m., while Saturday's contest in scheduled for 6 p.m., at Ed Robson Arena.

Last Time Out
Colorado College split a pair of games at No. 10 Omaha last weekend ... On Friday, CC scored three times in the third period but couldn't overcome a 4-0 deficit and fell to the Mavericks, 4-3. Hunter McKown put the Tigers on the board at the 5:39 mark with a wrist shot from the left circle that beat Omaha goalie Isaiah Saville, then Logan Will made it 4-2 with his fourth goal of the season with 7:05 remaining in the final frame. Will crashed the net after a shot from Nate Schweitzer got through and put the puck past Saville from the crease. During a late power play with goalie Matt Vernon on the bench in favor of an extra skater, Stanley Cooley won a faceoff that went right to Matthew Gleason, who deposited a shot past Saville from the high slot to cut the deficit to one with 31 seconds remaining. Gleason, who had the primary assist on McKown's goal, finished with one goal and one assist. Omaha turned a handful of CC turnovers deep in its own zone into a 3-0 lead within a span of 2:15 midway through the first period ... On Saturday, Brian Hawkinson scored twice and Dominic Basse posted the first shutout of his career as Colorado College blanked No. 10 Omaha, 4-0. Logan Will added a pair of assists as the Tigers captured their first victory against an NCHC opponent and beat the 10th-ranked team in the country on the road for the second time this season (Boston College on Oct. 22). Basse led a stellar defensive effort by Colorado College, which allowed just 17 shots, tying for the second-fewest total allowed this season. After a scoreless first period that saw just 13 total shots, the Tigers took advantage of an Omaha turnover early in the second period to open the scoring. Brett Chorske stole the puck in front of the Maverick net and got it to Jutting, whose shot from the slot deflected off Omaha goalie Austin Roden's glove and into the net for his second goal of the season at the 4:08 mark of the middle frame. Following a two-minute interference and five-minute facemasking call against Omaha at the end of the second period, the Tigers capitalized on the power play early in the final period. Omaha killed off the two-minute 5-on-3, but Hawkinson scored his first two goals of the season to make it 3-0 during the remainder of the major. Hawkinson was camped in front of the net and deflected a shot by Will past Roden at the 2:40 mark, then put home a rebound at 4:03 of the final frame. Tommy Middleton closed out the scoring with an empty-net goal, the first of his career, with 3:56 remaining in the third period.
