The Colorado College women's soccer team stifled Wyoming's offense Friday as the Tigers defeated the Cowgirls, 1-0, in Laramie, Wyo.
Â
CC allowed just one shot in 90 minutes to complete the season sweep of the Cowgirls. Sophomore keeper
Greta Forseth did not have to make a save in her first career start for the Tigers.
Â
Kiley Suter scored in the 28
th minute for her team-high third goal of the season and second game-winner against Wyoming this season.
Camille Weaver took the ball down the left side to the goal line then found Suter, who was alone in front of the net and slid the ball past Cowgirl goalkeeper Hannah Lee.
Â
The Tigers held an 8-0 advantage in total shots and 3-0 in shots on goal in the first 90 minutes.
Â
Lee gave way to Alex Dawes in the second half, and CC had four total shots and two on frame in the final 45 minutes. The Tiger defense clamped down even more amid snow showers and Wyoming's only shot attempt by Jamie Tatum in the 52
nd minute was blocked.
Â
"This was a great effort today," head coach
Geoff Bennett said. "I thought we were in total control from the opening kick until the final whistle. It is not easy to win at Wyoming, and for us to come in here and not even give up a shot on goal tells you how determined and focused this group is right now."
