Tigers and CSU Play to 1-1 Draw

The Colorado College women's soccer team produced another stellar defensive effort in a 1-1 tie with Colorado State Sunday afternoon at the CSU Soccer Complex.

The Tigers allowed just two shots on goal Sunday and remain in second place in the Mountain West's Mountain Division behind New Mexico, which lost to Utah State, 1-0, on Saturday.

Colorado College, which allowed just one shot attempt in Friday's 1-0 victory at Wyoming, dominated play throughout the game on Sunday, holding a 20-8 advantage in total shots and 9-2 in shots on goal.

Senior Camille Weaver put the Tigers on the board in the 36th minute with a blast that hit the back of the net over the outstretched arms of CSU goalkeeper Amelia Hammerle. CC attempted eight total shots and put five on frame in the first half, while the Rams mustered just one attempt.

Colorado State evened the game in the 62nd minute when Gracie Armstrong put a shot past CC keeper Greta Forseth into the upper right corner on CSU's first shot on frame.

Junior Jacqui Hand had a great look early in the first overtime, but Hammerle got just enough of it to knock it over the net. Kiley Suter put a shot on goal later in the period, and Armstrong collected the only shot attempt in the second overtime frame.

"We had our chances to win this game," head coach Geoff Bennett said. "We just didn't get that final product perfected. However, this was our fourth game in a row on the road. We are tired and we did an admiral job of competing with tired legs. We will be super prepared for Utah State and New Mexico next weekend."

Colorado College Standouts
Camille Weaver notched her second long-range goal of the season.
