The Colorado College women's soccer team will attempt to start an even longer unbeaten streak next weekend after dropping a 2-0 results at San Jose State University on Sunday afternoon.

The Spartans broke through in the 40th minute when Cynthia Flores scored her first goal of the season off of a corner kick from Taylor Phillips.

Isabel Shallou-Enes added an insurance goal 6:24 into the second half after taking a touch from Evan House.

The Tigers had an opportunity to get one back in the 58th minute, but
Kiley Suter's shot was blocked.

Colorado College battled until the end and had one final chance to get on the board, but
Lily Byrne's shot was denied by SJSU goalkeeper Autum Monty, who finished with three saves.

San Jose State finished with a 14-10 advantage in total shots and a 4-3 edge in shots on target.

The Spartans also won six corner kicks, compared to three for CC.

"We quite simply didn't perform," head coach
Geoff Bennett said. "I am frustrated, but we will keep battling. We have to. It is the only way to turn this around."

Haley Harnish launched two shots, one of which was on target.

Colorado College slipped to 1-7-1 overall and 0-1-1 in the Mountain West.
San Jose State improved to 4-6-0 overall and 1-1-0 in conference play.

Colorado College returns home to play host to the University of Nevada and UNLV on Friday and Sunday, Oct. 1 and 3, respectively.
