The Colorado College women's swimming and diving team opened its 2022-23 season Friday with a dominating 165.5-37.5 victory over Nebraska Wesleyan at Schlessman Natatorium.

Gina Lynch led the way for the Tigers on Friday, posting wins in the 200-yard freestyle and 200 backstroke, and joined
Emma Phillips and freshmen
Lola Muntiu and
Grace Ersfeld-O'Brien on the 400 freestyle relay that touched first.

Phillips and Ersfeld-O'Brien captured the500 freestyle and 100 freestyle, respectively, while freshman
Malia Hewitt won the 200 IM and 200 breaststroke.

Other winners included 2022 All-American
Kate Brush (200 butterfly),
Sarah Buchman (50 freestyle) and the 400 medley relay team consisting of Liz Duncan, Hewitt, Brush and
Megan Simonson.

"As our early season begins, we asked the team to focus on the technical aspects over the total times," head coach
Anne Goodman James said. "It was good to see them start to make those corrections, as well as to split races so evenly. We are looking forward to racing again tomorrow."

The two teams will battle again on Saturday, Oct. 15, at Schlessman Natatorium, beginning at 1 p.m.
