Tigers Big Over NWU For Second Straight Day

The Colorado College men's swimming and diving team swept its weekend meets against Nebraska Wesleyan with a 167-51 victory Saturday at Schlessman Natatorium.

Junior Oliver Spanton won a pair of individual events on Saturday in his first meet as a Tiger. He captured the 50- and 100-yard freestyle races. Sophomore Aidan Richter was also a double-winner on Saturday by winning both diving events.

Sophomore Owen Tennant won the 100 breaststroke and freshman Dax Sherwood the 100 backstroke, and they combined with sophomores Caleb Peimann and Step Flanagan to win the 200 medley relay.

Other winners for the Tigers included sophomore Jack Hussin (200 freestyle) and freshman Edmund Davis (1000 freestyle).

"There were much closer races today and we were pushed to perform," head coach Anne Goodman James said.

The Tigers travel to Texas next weekend for dual meets against SCAC foes Trinity Univeristy (Oct. 21) and Southwestern University (Oct. 22).
