Tigers Swim Past SCAC-Foe Southwestern

The Colorado College men's swimming and diving team posted an impressive 135-107 victory over SCAC-foe Southwestern University Saturday in Georgetown, Texas.

Freshman Edmund Davis, who set a school record in the 1000-yard freestyle at Trinty on Friday, won the same race on Saturday in a time of 10:04.36.

Other winners for the Tigers on Saturday included junior Oliver Spanton in the 100 freestyle (47.93) and sophomores Jack Hussin in the 200 freestyle (1:47.66) and Caleb Peimann in the 50 freestyle (21.93). Hussin joined Step Falanagan, Eric Uerling and Topher Shepherd on the winning 400 freestyle relay team (3:15.21)

Sophomore Aidan Richter claimed first place in each diving event on Saturday, winning the 1-meter board with 289.70 points and the 3-meter with 243.25.

"We have a great rivalry with Southwestern, and today was the best dual meet there's been between us," head coach Anne Goodman James said. "The score was tight coming down to the last two events and we pulled through. I tried some different lineup choices; some that worked and some that didn't, but our team really stepped up with every change. I'm really proud of our whole group."

The Tigers return to action at the Phoenix Fall Classic in Chicago, Ill., Nov, 18-20.
