Tigers Win Final Two Regular Season Matches; Set to Host SCAC Tourney

The Colorado College volleyball team defeated the University of St. Thomas and Schreiner University in Seguin, Texas on Sunday, and secure their position in the SCAC Tournament.

CC tied for third place in the league standings with Texas Lutheran, and earned the No. 3 seed in the SCAC Tournament next weekend at Reid Arena due to tiebreakers. The Tigers will play No. 6-seeded St. Thomas at 1 p.m., on Friday, Nov. 4.

The day opened with a furious rally to beat UST in five sets, 20-25, 12-25, 25-20, 25-23, 15-9. 

Keeley Kandziora and Delaney Rach led the charge for the Tigers with 13 and 11 kills, respectively. Isabella Lipacis and Kaylie Stuteville recorded seven kills apiece in the Tigers' victory.

Setter Jenny Jenks had 38 assists on 125 attempts for a .304 hitting percentage. 

The Celts were led by Trinity Atkins, who earned 16 kills on 37 attempts. 

In their second match of the day, the Tigers defeated Schreiner, three sets to one (24-26, 25-13, 25-16, 25-19). 

Lipacis and Kandziora built upon their morning momentum and recorded 13 and 14 kills, respectively. Steph Brown earned nine kills on 14 attempts for an impressive .643 hitting percentage.

With the wins, the Tigers finished the regular season with a 19-8 overall record and 11-5 in SCAC play.
