Tigers Battle to Three-Set Victory on Senior Day


Colorado College swept the Southwestern University Pirates in straight sets on senior day in Reid Arena. The Pirates are ranked third in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, one spot above the Tigers
 
The Tigers honored libero Peyton Hummel in the ceremony after Saturday's match. Hummel recorded two aces, 16 receptions and 14 digs in the victory over Southwestern.

"Before the match, our word was honor," Ccoach Sharon Dingman said. "Honor the game, honor your training and most of all, honor Peyton. Peyton has been a remarkable example of excellence in all she does. Her teammates honored her."
 
CC was led by junior Middle Hitter Isabella Lipacis who recorded an impressive 21 kills off 40 attempts for a .375 hitting percentage. Her 21 kills are a career high for Lipacis. Outside hitter Keeley Kandziora recorded 10 kills in the Tigers victory.
 
Colorado College recorded four team blocks including a solo block by Middle Blocker Kaylie Stuteville.
 
The Tigers return to action on October 21th when they take on Centenary College in San Antonio, Tex.
