Colorado College junior James Settles finished in 60^th place Saturday at the NCAA Division III Men's Cross Country Championships at Forest Acres Golf Course in Lansing, Mich.
 
Settles, the reigning SCAC Runner of the Year, completed the 8K course in 25 minutes, 50.0 seconds.
 
"James had a great race today," head coach Alex Nichols said. "He moved up through the field and finished just outside of the All-American group. This will give him some valuable experience before his senior year."
 
Settles' result was the best by a CC male at the national meet since Nick Hall placed 60^th in 2013.
