The Colorado College volleyball team defeated University of St. Thomas and No. 2 seed Southwestern to advance to the SCAC Tournament Championship.

The Tigers defeated the No. 6 seed Celts in five sets 23-25, 28-30, 25-18, 13-25, 15-10 in their first match on Friday.

Isabella Lipacis led the Tigers with 22 kills on 53 attempts and a .302 hitting percentage.
Keeley Kandziora and Carolyn Dormady also recorded 16 and 17 kills respectively. Kandziora's 17 kills is her season high.

Jenny Jenks earned 52 assists on 138 attempts and a .377 hitting percentage to propel the Tigers to their five-set victory.

The Celts were led by Trinity Atkins who recorded 10 kills on 38 attempts.

In their second match of the day. CC defeated the Pirates in four sets, 25-21, 26-24, 25-17, 25-22.

Lipacis, Kandziora and Dormady all continued their strong performances with 19, 13 and 15 kills respectively. Jenks, SCAC Setter of the Year, earned another 50 kills on 127 attempts.

The Tigers earned 4.5 team blocks, 2 from middle blocker

The Pirates were led by Christina Kuras who earned 15 kills on 34 attempts.

CC is advancing to the SCAC Tournament Championship for the first time since the 2020 season where they defeated rival Trinity University.

"This is something we've worked for," coach
Sharon Dingman said. "We faced a lot of challenges early in the year, but we just stayed the course and now we get to play for a championship, and that's what CC volleyball should be about."

Colorado College with face No. 4 seed Texas Lutheran University tomorrow at 11 a.m., who upset top-seeded Trinity in the semifinal round.
