Colorado College Women's Basketball defeated Schreiner University, 67-49, on Saturday afternoon in Kerrville, Texas.
Audrey Bayston led the Tigers with a season high 28 points along with 14 rebounds, her first double-double of the season.
"Audrey did a phenomenal job both hitting shots and rebounding," coach Menendez said. "Her decision-making at the high post against Schreiner's zone was exactly what we needed to get the results we did today."
The Tigers outscored Schreiner 29-8 in the final period, with an 11-4 run to start the fourth quarter. Sixteen of Bayston's 29 points came in the final ten minutes.
Zoe Tomlinson and
Laura Strenk also provided strong performances for CC with 17 and 11 points respectively. Tomlinson earned her fifth double-double of the season with 13 rebounds.
"Our team toughed out a quality win that is huge for us in the overall pursuit of being a top team in the conference," Menendez said. "Audrey, Laura, and Zoe had tremendous showings on the offensive side. Laura's percentage from behind the arc plus her assists resulted in great confidence for us. Zoe cleaned up on the boards and shots around the rim, which also resulted in steadying our team attack. I'm very proud of our team effort and look forward to this momentum carrying us into a great match with Trinity."
Colorado College held Schreiner to just 33.3% from the field and allowed six second-chance points.
