The Colorado College women's tennis team opened its spring break trip in Orlando, Fla, with a 6-3 loss to 20th-ranked Denison University Friday afternoon at the USTA National Tennis Center.
 
The teams split the six singles matches and entered the doubles matches tied at 3-3. Freshman 
Christina Heffron won the No. 1 singles match, 7-6(8), 6-1, over Sarah Robertson, while fellow freshman 
Maddy Meister and sophomore 
Gigi Jensen won in straight sets at No. 4 and No. 6, respectively.
 
Denison clinched the team match by winning all three doubles contests. Junior 
Olivia Dicks and sophomore 
Elizabeth Girian posted the best result for CC, losing the No. 3 match, 8-4, to Hannah Bradvica and Kendall Schrader.
 
The Tigers (3-5) return to action on Saturday, March 19 against No. 37 Hope College at the USTA National Tennis Center, beginning at 9:30 a.m. (MT).
