Ava Risser scored the game-winning goal in the 86th minute to lift Colorado College to a 2-1 win over UTEP in an exhibition game Wednesday night at University Field.
 
Risser angled in a corner kick past UTEP goalie Alaina Gilbert. Her goal wrapped up a match that was impacted multiple times by weather delays. In total, three lightning delays altered the course of the evening, resulting in the originally scheduled 7 p.m. match not concluding until 10:30 p.m.
  
CC's Kaelin Woodruff opened the scoring in the 36th minute with a shot that beat starting goalie Mariah Scott.
 
Mina Rodriguez evened the score in the 68th minute, and the teas battled back-and-forth until Risser sealed the deal with her late-game heroics in the first game for new Tiger head coach Keri Sanchez.

Starting goalie Ally Wakeman played 60 minutes for CC, while Zahra Cheeseman was in the net for 30.
 
Colorado College outshot UTEP 13-4 on the night, including a 9-2 edge in the final 45 minutes. Woodruff and Haley Williams each tallied three shots.
