Colorado College maintains their undefeated record after beating Illinois Tech and Friends University in straight sets on Saturday.

The Tigers defeated the Scarlet Hawks in straight sets 25-23, 25-15, 25-10 the start the second day of the 2022 Colorado College Invitational.

CC started the match off with a statement ace from junior setter
Jenny Jenks. Jenks went on to earn 27 attempts and two aces in the match.

Colorado College was led by sophomore, middle hitter
Kaylie Stuteville who recorded an impressive .750 hitting percentage with a career high 9 kills off 12 attempts. Senior Libero
Peyton Hummel recorded a kill, an assist, two aces and five digs to support the Tigers.Â

CC earned eight blocks as a team.

Along with Stuteville, junior, outside hitter
Keeley Kandziora recorded 7 kills off 17 attempts.
Kellie Hopper and
Isabella Lipacis both earned five kills apiece to propel the Tigers to victory over the Scarlet Hawks.

The Scarlet Hawks were led by Zoe Michael who recorded eight kills and Grace Reckamp with 13 assists.

In their second match of the day the Tigers swept the Friends University Falcons 25-21, 25-9, 25-5.

After struggling to find momentum in the first set, the Tigers bounced back to dominate in the second and third.

Junior, outside hitter led the way for the Tigers with 13 kills off of 20 attempts for a .500 hitting percentage. Sophomore, outside hitter
Kellie Hopper had an impressive 11 points and four digs for the Tigers.

Freshman
Libby Ochs made her first appearance as a Tiger in the third set and immediately made an impact. She earned three aces as her first career points.

The Falcons were led by Sarah Lazar who recorded seven kills.

Colorado College returns to action next weekend in Thousand Oaks California for the California Lutheran Tournament.
