th-place individual finish Saturday at the Metro State Invitational in Denver, Colo.

Settles paced the Tigers for the second consecutive meet, running the 8K race in a personal-best time of 24 minutes, 55.20 seconds. Fellow junior
Devlin Swanson was close behind in 35
th place with a time of 25:18.40.

Joe Bullock placed 63
rd, followed by sophomore
Brett Kitazono, who finished 64
th. Senior
Theo Snowdon rounded out the scoring for CC in 83
rd place.

"We put in our first big effort of the season today," head coach
Alex Nichols said. "The front runners performed very well and we saw some encouraging results by the younger runners who are already moving into the top seven. I'm looking forward to seeing the gaps close at the coming meets."

The Tigers return to action at their own Ted Castaneda Classic on Saturday, Oct. 1, at North Nomument Valley Park, beginning at 11 a.m.
