The Colorado College Tigers defeated the University of California Santa Cruz Banana Slugs, 82-69, on Saturday afternoon in Reid Arena.
The game was a battle between the Tigers and the Slugs with 14 lead changes and ten ties but ultimately the Tigers came out on top after leading for a total of 25:26.Â
Dinari Boykin led the charge for the Tigers with a career high 30 points and 12 rebounds, his first double-double of the season and the most points scored by a Tiger since
Edgar Romero putting up 31 on Jan. 2, 2022 against Schreiner University.Â
Defense was the key to success for CC, with 30 points off of turnovers as well as fighting for another 30 points in the paint. The Tigers held the Slugs to just 32.8% from the field and 36% from behind the arc.
Scott Ruegg and
Trey Crawford also put up strong performances for Colorado College with 16 and 11 points respectively.
The Banana Slugs were led by Zino Okah who scored 19 points and grabbed three rebounds.

The Tigers are set to travel to Texas and take on the University of Dallas and Austin College next weekend.Â
