Tigers Win Defensive Battle Against Texas Lutheran

Colorado College extends their win streak to two in their 68-65 win over Texas Lutheran on Sunday afternoon.

Devin Philio had his best game as a Tiger, making an impact on both sides of the ball with 14 points, nine rebounds, three assists and two blocks.

"Tonight was another great defensive effort and true team win," coach Jeff Conarroe said. "Devin Philio had one of his best games as a Tiger, stuffing the stat sheet."

The Tigers grabbed 54 rebounds, the most since 2020 against Trinity, 37 coming on the defensive side of the ball. Of the 12 players in the lineup, 11 earned defensive rebounds.

"The story of the night was on the glass," Conarroe said. "We had 17 offensive rebounds as a team with 18 second-chance points and 34 points in the paint overall. We talk a lot about our identity becoming our defense and rebounding and we are walking that walk right. Incredible effore over the two game stretch, a true team effort."

Edgar Romero and Dinari Boykin both scored in the double digits with 10 and 12 points respectively. Senior DeAnté Dennis had his best game of the season with seven points, four rebounds and three assists for the Tigers.

CC held the Bulldogs to 33.9% from the field and 25% from behind the arc.

The Bulldogs were led by Xavier Phillips who earned 19 points and four rebounds.
