th-ranked University of St. Thomas Sunday afternoon in Houston.

The Tigers improved to 7-2-1 overall and 2-0 in the SCAC and earned their first win over a ranked opponent since beating No. 8 Luther College, 3-0, on Aug. 31, 2019.

St. Thomas suffered its first loss of the season and fell to 7-1-1 and 0-1 in league play.

CC broke a scoreless tie when Rich headed in his third goal of the season off a
Wyatt Linggi pass in the 72
nd minute.

At the half, the Tigers had recorded just one shot on goal and two corners and finished the game with three shots on goal. St. Thomas led in corners, 9-2.

"This was another total team effort," head coach
Scott Palguta said. "The conditions were brutal with the heat and having played Friday and traveled Saturday, but the guys played with real determination. All 20 players on the trip played and contributed. We got better and deeper at the same time this weekend."
