The Colorado College men's soccer team won a hard-fought 1-0 game against SCAC rival Southwestern on Friday, cementing head coach
Scott Palguta's name in the CC record books with his 100
th career victory.

Oliver Ramirez put the Tigers in the lead on his team-leading seventh goal of the season. In the 70
th minute, the sophomore was able to corral a shot by
Charlie Wagner at the top of the box and put it past Pirate goaltender Brendan Prather.

Through the first 45 minutes of play neither side had very many chances. The Tigers had two shots on goal,
Will Bavier and
Alexander Ward each had an opportunity to put the ball on net.

Jasper Broad finished with two saves for the Tigers. CC is now 8-2-1 overall and 3-0 in conference play.

"The sign of a good team is winning when you're not at your best," head coach
Scott Palguta said. "We lacked sharpness in our attacking play, but we were excellent on the defensive side of the ball. One goal was enough today but we will need to play with greater care and urgency on Sunday."

The Tigers will be back in action on Sunday at Stewart Field against Texas Lutheran. Game time is set for noon.
