Tigers Travel to Colorado State, Wyoming

Tigers Return To The Road This Week
The Colorado College women's soccer team heads north for a pair of Mountain West matches this week. The Tigers face Colorado State in Fort Collins on Thursday, Oct. 12, beginning at 3 p.m., then Wyoming in Laramie on Sunday, Oct. 15, at 1 p.m. Both matches will be streamed live on the Mountain West Network and CCTigers.com.

Last Time Out
The Tigers split a pair of conference games at Stewart Field last week. On Thursday, Lily Byrne scored twice in the first 12 minutes on the contest and the Tigers held on for a 2-1 victory over Nevada. Regan Wallace made four saves, including three in the second half after Nevada cut the lead in half. On Sunday, Shalom Prince gave the Tigers a 1-0 lead in the 49th minute, but UNLV struck for goals in the 60th and 84th minute to claim the victory. The Tigers played the final 16 minutes with 10 players after Kaelin Enga received her second yellow card of the contest and was sent off the pitch. Wallace had three saves for CC.

Second Year For Head Coach Keri Sanchez
Keri Sanchez was named the eighth head coach in the history of the school's Division I women's soccer program in December of 2021. Sanchez, who won four NCAA National Championships as a player at the University of North Carolina, led the Tigers to a 7-7-5 record and their first appearance in the Mountain West Tournament since 2018. She brought 25 years of coaching experience to Colorado Springs that spans Division I and Division III. During her standout professional career, Sanchez played at the highest level. She notched 13 caps with the United States Women's National Team and played in the first-ever World Cup qualifying tournament in 1991.

2023 Captains
Seniors Shalom Prince and Alexis Wessler and junior Kaelin Enga have been named team captains for the 2023 season.

For The Record
Colorado College is 2-10-1 overall and 2-4 in Mountain West action entering this week's matches. The Tigers are in a three-way tie for eighth place in the Mountain West standings. Colorado State is 7-4-3 overall and 2-2-2 in league play, good for a fifth-place tie, after defeating Fresno State, 1-0, last Thursday and tying San Jose State, 4-4, on Sunday, both on the road. Wyoming, meanwhile, is 5-6-3 and 1-5-0 entering its match Thursday night against Air Force. The Cowgirls beat San Jose State, 1-0, last Thursday and lost to Fresno State, 2-0, on Sunday.

All-Time Series vs. Opponents
Colorado College is 5-1-3 all-time against Colorado State, including a 1-0 victory last season at Stewart Field. The Tigers are 12-6-0 against Wyoming. The Cowgirls defeated CC, 2-1, last year in Colorado Springs.

Prince leads the team with seven points (3g,1a), followed by Byrne with six (3g,0a). Prince and Byrne each have a team-high three goals, while Harnisch and freshman Tyler Rose lead the team with two assists apiece. Prince leads the Tigers with 22 total shots and 11 on goal. Wallace has started all 13 matches with a 2.35 goals-against average and .740 save percentage. She leads the Mountain West with 77 saves.

A Look At The Opponents
Olivia Fout leads Colorado State and the Mountain West with 21 points and 10 goals. Shayna Ross has each played every minute this season in net, collecting a 1.21 goals-against average and .742 save percentage. Alyssa Glover tops Wyoming with 11 points (5g,1a), while Mikuyi Schoyen has played eight game in goal with a 1.38 GAA and .788 save percentage.
