Tigers Fall at Fresno State

Kaelyn Miller had two goals and an assist and Ciara Wilson scored and added two helpers to lead the Fresno State women's soccer team to a 5-0 victory over Colorado College Sunday afternoon in Fresno, Calif.

Miller opened the scoring in the eighth minute off a feed from Wilson, then notched her second of the contest in the 11th minute to make it 2-0.

Wilson put the Bulldogs up 3-0 in the 17th minute with an assist from Miller.

Sabrina Welch scored in the 26th minute and Klara Chapeyrout did the same 10 minutes later and Fresno State led by five at halftime.

FSU outshot the Tigers, 16-8, in total shots and 11-3 in shots on goal. Miller led all players with six total and four shots on goal.

Regan Wallace made four saves before giving way to Erika Upson at halftime. Upson finished with two saves. Valentina Vivas saved both shots she faced and backup keeper Kaydence Cortez-Garcia made one save in 12 minutes of action.

"We struggled to bring the same drive and desire we had Thursday night and Fresno fed off their performance from Thursday," head coach Keri Sanchez said. "Consistency is necessary to be a playoff team and that is something we did not find this year. Now our focus is to send off our seniors in a big way Thursday at Weidner."

The Tigers close out the regular season with the 2nd Annual City For Champions Cup against cross-town rival Air Force on Thursday, Oct. 26, at Weidner Field, beginning at 6 p.m.
