The Colorado College women's tennis team collected its second consecutive shutout in its first match of the 2023 spring break trip with a 9-0 victory over the University of Puget Sound Saturday morning in Tacoma, Wash.
 
The Tigers cruised to an early 3-0 lead by sweeping the three doubles matches, including an 8-0 victory by 
Malia Rivera and 
Abby Wilson, in her first collegiate match, at the No. 3 spot over Zoe Richter and Annie Vondesberg.
 
In singles play, the Tigers won the top five matches in straight sets and won the No. 6 match by default.  
Christina Heffron defeated Paige Shinall, 6-2, 6-1, at the No. 1 position, while Lindsy Popeo downed Marissa Perez by the same score at No. 2. 
Elizabeth Girian and 
Magdalene Gonzales won 6-1, 6-1, at the Nos. 3 and 4 spots, respectively, and 
Gigi Jensen beat Richter, 6-2, 6-0, at No. 5.   
 
The Tigers return to action on Sunday, March 26, against Linfield University in McMinnville, Ore., beginning at 2 pm (MT).
