Tigers Fall in Close Battle with No. 16 UChicago

Colorado College lost a close battle to No. 16 University of Chicago, 14-13, on Saturday in Chicago, Illinois.

Kendall Havill tied her season high of five goals against the Maroons. Bella Scola and Devon Ortman both scored a pair and Peyton Murphy, Tobin Lonergan, Courtney Zell and Olivia Dossett each scored one. 

"I thought we competed really hard for a full 60 minutes today," coach Susan Stewart said. "Anytime you take a highly ranked team to an overtime situation means we are doing the right things. It was an unfortunate outcome, but I am very proud of our team's play today." 

Lulu Hardy led the Maroons with six goals. 

The Tigers out shot UChicago, 36-30, 25 of their shots coming on target. CC won the ground ball battle, 21-18 and beat the Maroons in draw controls 17-14.

Natalie Slade made ten saves in the game.
