The Colorado Buffaloes scored both goals in the first half and allowed just two shots on goal in a 2-0 victory over Colorado College Thursday night in Boulder.
 
Ally Clark put the Buffs on the board just 8:34 into the contest. CC's Alexis Wessler stopped a run by Hope Leyba, but the ball went right to Clark, who beat Tiger keeper Regan Wallace from the top of the box.
 
At the 19:21 mark, the game was delayed for 40 minutes due to lightning and once the match resumed, most of the remainder of the first half was played in a steady rain.
 
Wallace kept the Buffs (2-1) from doubling their lead with a huge save on a point-blank shot by Shyra James in the 34^th minute, but the home team made it 2-0 just 90 seconds later as Faith Leyba put the ball past Wallace off a corner kick from Mallory Allen.
 
Neither team found the back of the net in the second half. Wallace stopped Leyba's blast from the top of the box in the 77^th minute, while Tyler Rose and Haley Harnisch each put a shot on net.
 
The Buffs outshot CC, 26-8, in total shots and 12-2 on target. Wallace collected a career-high 10 saves, while CU's Jordan Nytes saved both of CC's shots on target.
 
Colorado College (0-2-1) travels to Kansas on Sunday, Aug, 27, beginning at 12 p.m. (MT).
