The Colorado College men's soccer team opened its 2023 season Friday night with a hard-fought 2-1 loss to Pacific Lutheran at Stewart Field.
 
Following a scoreless first half, PLU struck first when Jordan Ross took a pass from Christian Pineda and beat Tiger keeper Jasper Broad in the 48^th minute.

The Tigers roared back and cut the deficit in half when Remi Maher found sophomore Oliver Ramirez, who beat PLU goalie Nicholas Gaston for his second career goal in the 83^rd minute.
 
Offense was at a premium on Friday, as Pacific Lutheran attempted just seven total shots with three on target, while CC had just three and two, respectively.
 
Vincent Luglio had a chance to tie the game in the 86^th minute, but Gaston made his only save to preserve the victory for the Lutes. Broad also had just one save.
 
The Tigers return to action on Sunday, Sept. 3, against Lake Forest College, beginning at 1:30 p.m., on Stewart Field.
