Tigers Wrap Up Non-Conference Slate at ASU

The Colorado College women's soccer team wrapped up its non-conference slate Friday night with a 3-0 loss to Arizona State Friday night in Tempe.

Keri Matthews scored in the sixth minute with a header by the far post off a corner kick from Lauren Kirberg.

The Sun Devils (5-1-3) doubled their lead in the 55th minute. Enasia Colon fired a shot from 30 yards out that was headed for the top part of the net. Tiger keeper Regan Wallace got a piece of it, then the ball caromed off the crossbar and went right to Gabi Rennie, who was all alone in front and put in the rebound.

Lieske Carleer scored ASU's third goal in the 76th minute off a header that CC attempted to clear off the line, but after the officials conferred, the goal was allowed. Colon collected her second assist of the match on the play.

The Tigers (0-6-1) mustered just one shot and did not collect a shot on goal, while the Sun Devils had 20 total shots and 11 on target. Wallace finished with five saves, while back-up keeper Zahra Cheeseman had three. The home team held an 12-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Colorado College opens Mountain West action on Thursday, Sept. 21, by hosting Boise State at Stewart field, beginning at 6 p.m.
