With a 3-2 victory over nationally-ranked Tufts University, the Colorado College volleyball team handed head coach 
Sharon Dingman her 600
th career victory. The Tigers (3-2) opened the first night of the East-West Battle in Claremont, Calif., with scores of 25-20, 16-25, 25-14, 19-25, 15-10.
 
Senior 
Isabella Lipacis led the Tigers with 18 kills, notching two block assists and 18 digs. As a team, CC outhit Tufts, .268 to .177. Sophomore 
Carolyn Dormady and senior 
Keeley Kandziora each recorded double figure kills with 14 and 10, respectively.
 
CC recorded its first victory over a nationally-ranked team since Nov. 12, 2021, downing 16
th-ranked Ohio Northern in the first round of the NCAA Division III Championship.

Jenny Jenks (23) shared the setting duties as the duo combined for 48 assists.
 
Winning the first set, 25-20, the Tigers looked like they were going to be a good match for Tufts but the 17
th-ranked Jumbos (1-1) bounced back with a 25-16 win in the second set. 
 
CC used seven straight points to take the lead in the third set and win handily, 25-14.
 
The fourth set was evenly matched with the two sides trading points until Tufts strung together a handful of points and went up by three before CC called a timeout. Tufts hung on to lead and won 25-19, evening the match at two sets apiece.
 
Each side traded points early in the fifth and final set before the Tigers pulled away to win 15-10.
 
The Tigers will continue on Saturday in the East-West Battle with matches against ninth-ranked Johns Hopkins followed by 13
th-ranked Emory.
